My life as an at-home momma of 3 amazing kids...it's kind of like shoveling snow in a blizzard.

Harry Potter Cover Revealed!

Note the CURTAINS on either side of the full dust jacket? And there were curtains on the dust jacket for Sorcerer's Stone as well, but no other book. The beginning and the ending. We wondered if the curtains on book 7 could be the curtain Sirius fell through?

Also.....do Harry and Voldemort look as though they are fighting against something together? They aren't facing each other, like they are battling each other, in this picture? And Harry's eyes are focused somewhere outside the picture, not at Voldemort.

Peyton on SNL

I rarely stay up to watch SNL anymore. It's just not as funny as it used to be years ago. But last night I actually stayed up for the whole thing to see Peyton Manning as the host.

I thought he did a great job. Highlights had to be the United Way commercial, the NCAA sketch and "a little pee came out." I'm pretty sure he was trying to hide the fact that he was cracking up under that towel in the locker room sketch. (The Dora parody was hilarious too!)

For those who missed it, here's the United Way skit - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3wmildksr5M
Those kids must have had a blast filming that with him too.

That birthday cake looked awesome. Too bad he walked in front of it when they tried to show a close up.

HP will be 784 pages

According to MuggleNet, Scholastic announced today that the US edition of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will contain 784 pages, making it the second longest book in the series behind OOTP! Sigh.....only 122 days until the release!

Kaylee's New LeapPad

Kaylee got a pink LeapPad for her birthday. I don't know if you can read the box, but it says it takes AA batteries. That's the same as Keithen's old LeapPad.

BUT.....when I opened it up to put the batteries in, it took AAA batteries! Luckily we had some on hand. I was annoyed that the packaging was wrong though, because what if we didn't have any AAA in the house? We'd have had a disappointed birthday girl! So I took pictures of the box and of the batteries as I installed them, thinking I'd complain to Leap Frog.

Then I turned the LeapPad over to set the book up for her. When I opened it up, there was a built-in microphone inside and an extra book! This was supposed to be a regular old LeapPad, but evidently we got a nicer version with a microphone in the wrong box. Oops! So I guess I won't be complaining! (And I even bought the thing on sale for $10 off back in December.)

Happy 6th Birthday Kaylee!
