My life as an at-home momma of 3 amazing kids...it's kind of like shoveling snow in a blizzard.

Breastfeeding saves lives.....literally.....

Kati Kim, her husband and two daughters (Penelope, 4, and Sabine, 7 months) were missing for more than a week. They had been traveling along rural roads that are often used as shortcuts to Gold Beach on the south Oregon coast when their vehicle got stuck in the snow.

The mother and girls were found alive Monday along a roadway in southwestern Oregon. They were airlifted to Three Rivers Community Hospital in Grants Pass. Rescuers are still searching for the father, who left on foot 2 days earlier to find help.

Nursing supervisor Cynthia Russell said the mother nursed both the children while they were lost because there was no food or water in their car. The family stayed warm by running the car at night until they ran out of gas, and then they burned the tires, authorities said.

Thank God she was nursing. What a miracle that she was able to provide for her girls over the long days that they were lost. The outcome could have been so tragic for those little girls if things were different.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Kim family in hopes of another miracle that will return James Kim safely to their arms.
