Modern day miracle - turning water into beer?
Have you ever read the old children's story "Raggedy Ann's Wishing Pebble" by Johnny Gruelle? Raggedy Ann and Andy find a magic wishing pebble and wish that a magic soda-water fountain would appear in the home of their friends Mr. and Mrs. Muskrat. Can you just imagine the surprise and delight of the muskrats when they discover the magic fountain in their living room! The muskrats, the rag dolls and all their friends then enjoy an endless supply of yummy ice cream sodas.
Haldis Gundersen of Norway must have felt a bit like Mrs. Muskrat this weekend when she turned on her kitchen faucet to find that her water had turned to beer! Beer isn't cheap in Norway either. A half-liter (pint) can cost about 25 kroner ($3.75) in grocery stores. (Unfortuntately, the beer gushing out of Mrs. Gundersen's faucet was flat.)
Two flights down, the employees and customers at the Big Tower Bar were horrified when water poured out of their beer taps. (No...it wasn't American beer...it was really water folks.)
It all turned out to be a big plumbing mistake and everything has been reconnected the correct way now.
I can just see my husband's face if beer started pouring out of our kitchen sink.

All the more reason for me to move into an apartment above a bar.
