5 Dollars

My life as an at-home momma of 3 amazing kids...it's kind of like shoveling snow in a blizzard.

On the second day of Advent, my Grandma gave to me.....

Do you know what my favorite thing about Grandma's Advent boxes is? The kids have to get up, go to the bathroom, get dressed and ready for the day before they are allowed to open their gifts. It's only the second day of Advent and they were ready about 30 minutes earlier than usual today! It really lights a fire under their behinds to get dressed in the morning!

Kaylee and Ruby got coloring books that can be erased and colored again today. Keithen got some blank stickers with markers so he can decorate them himself. I think Ruby is planning to take her coloring book along when we take Kaylee to ballet this morning.

That is such a cute idea! Do they get a small gift everyday?

Yeah, they get something every day starting on December 1st up until their final gift on Christmas Eve. The calendar gives them a good countdown to Christmas.

Some of the things they've gotten in the past years - little fish for the bathtub, snow globes, socks, mittens, hats, finger paints, coloring books, place mats with Santa on them, ornaments, small purses, hair prettys, toy cars, candy, sweatshirts/pants, puzzles, those "magic" washrags, stickers, puppets, etc.

Grandma does a lot of shopping at the dollar store to get stuff for their boxes so she doesn't have to spend an arm and a leg for 10 grandkids!
