New Year's Eve
We spent the afternoon of December 31st at a performance of Beauty and the Beast at Indianapolis Civic Theatre. The kids all seemed to really enjoy it. Kaylee was quite obviously impressed beyond words. When we saw the ballet dancers back in November she had clapped a little bit and afterwards told me, "Well, you clap if you like it." Let me tell you, this girl clapped with every fiber of her being through the whole performance of Beauty and the Beast! Her whole body was into it when she clapped and her eyes were glued to the stage for every second of the show. The girls were also very happy to meet Belle and the Prince after the show. Our college friend Brent played the bookseller so it was nice to get to see him for a few minutes afterwards as well.
After the show, we went to Grandma and Grandpa Dollar's house for a spaghetti dinner. We gave Jackson his birthday gift and spent a few last hours playing and talking with the Texas Dollars before they started their long drive home. The kids were all sure to ring the bell to welcome the New Year as we left to come home.
